- Knowing the initial parameters
Material characteristics such as particle size (mm), bulk density (t/m3), temperature, wetness, viscosity and etc. Besides that, the actual conveying capacity Q (m3/h) and the lifting height H (m) is also important.
- Hopper patterns
The moisture content and viscosity of material determines the hopper patterns of bucket elevator machine. The interior wall of a shallow hopper has relatively large slant angle and small in depth, therefore it is suitable for conveying wet and poor flowing material. While interior wall of deep hopper has relatively small angle and large in depth, the most suitable type of material conveyed is dry and good flowing material. For hopper with guided edge, it is suitable for heavy and abrasive conveying material.
- Types of traction component
There are traction component made of belt and plate chain as well. Traction component is usually chose based on lifting height and temperature of material. The advantages of belt bucket elevator are low cost, smooth operation and low noise output. However, the lifting height capacity is rather low. On the other hand, plate chain bucket elevator has advantages of high lifting height where it can lift large lumps and high temperature materials.
