Some bucket elevators are equipped with feeding buffer devices which are used to adjust the feed flow rate, while some are equipped with slop plate which is used to adjust the section area of the feed inlet.
Generally, increasing feed flow rate is conducive to improve the bucket elevator lifting machine loading speed. However, if the feed velocity is too fast, it will increase the impact of the material to the hopper. This will result in material falling into the hopper and splashed, and will further cause material blockage in the hopper, allowing only little amount of material to be fed into bucket thus decreasing the capacity of bucket elevator machine. The output capacity of bucket elevator device usually increases with the increasing of the speed of the lifting belt. However, if the speed of the hopper is too fast, feeding rate will be quick, hence very few amount of material is able to be fed into bucket.
