chemical-degreasing

Recently one of our clients ordered a bucket elevator with special requirements of not putting paint on it but rather requested for an acid cleaning process on the bucket elevator.

Acid cleaning is a process using acid reagent to remove various types of discoloration and tarnishes from the metals. The acid reagents commonly used are sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphate, nitric acid, chromic acid, hydrofluoric acid and mixed acid. The acid cleaning techniques carried out are spray and acid pickling method. The acid cleaning process needs to be conducted under a ventilated environment.

Here are the step by step guide on acid cleaning.

1.Chemical degreasing: Conventional alkaline degreasing treatment or surfactant degreasing treatment.

4.Second step cleaning: The removal of residue attached on the steel surface which are unable to be cleaned during the first acid cleaning process. This process brightens and smoothens the surface of bucket elevator equipment. The impurities is then washed away by water.
